I grew up inNewarkDelaware. I came to Christian Community Outreach Ministries over a year ago. I had a long 15 year history with drug abuse. I enrolled into theTeenChallengeCenterinBaltimoreMarylandin 2009 to change my life. I was able to accomplish this goal but I knew because of my history I didn’t have much of a supporting cast awaiting me when I finished the program. I had a lot of anxiety especially since there was nothing in place for me, help wise when I completed Teen Challenge.

On a Wednesday night chapel service I met Pastor Meredith Payton and some of the Staff of C.C.O.M.. I explained to one of the Staff my dilemma and he literally started the process of my intake then and there.

I was so excited to become part of this transitional program because before my treatment I was never consistent in completing anything substantial in my life.

I was an All-American High-School Football player and Track & Field High-Jumper. I failed terribly to follow through with all of that due to drugs.

I entered into U.S. Marine Corp, I failed at that due to my drug abuse. I went so deep into the drug abuse that it landed me in prison.

Completing Teen Challenge was the first great thing I have ever done. Being here at C.C.O.M. is the second greatest thing I have done, and being here has afforded me employment opportunities that I would never had, had. C.C.O.M. is preparing me to live my life on my own terms today. I no longer have to pick up and use drugs. I have many friends and family in my corner now and that is a direct result of C.C.O.M. being a place to help people and support people like me.
